Mee & Monique from The Beauty Journal
This week I caught up with the lovely Monique who is one of our beautiful clients at the Mee & You Beauty Brisbane salon. She’s also a natural and organic makeup artist with over 9 years of experience and is someone I love to follow on Instagram for the best tips and advice about natural beauty products, particularly skincare, that are ethical, organic and cruelty-free.
Monique is on a mission to empower women and support them on their transition to clean, eco-friendly beauty products, after making the journey to a more green beauty routine herself and seeing the benefits on the inside and out.
She joined me in our Paddington sanctuary for the Bespoke Facial with an OMNILUX Add On, and while she was here, I asked her a couple of questions I’ve been dying to know the answer too. So, let’s dive in to my chat with Monique…
What does the word beauty mean to you?
Beauty to me means generosity of spirit, empathy, kindness, curiosity, being a positive light to those around me and embracing my quirky imperfections
What do you do to recharge your body and mind?
Listen to it!! That might look like; not setting an alarm clock and sleeping in every once and a while or swapping my morning workout for a barefoot walk along the beach. I also really love regular acupuncture and a good massage!
What inspired you to create The Beauty Journal?
I started The Beauty Journal to empower and inspire women by sharing low toxic/holistic beauty brands, to not only nourish their skin (with safe ingredients) but to also encourage them to support small businesses who are passionate about making a difference in the world.

What’s your favourite treatment at Mee & You Beauty?
Ohhh it would have to be Bespoke Facial with an enzyme treatment and the OMNILUX light. NEXT LEVEL RESULTS!!
What’s next for you, Mon?
I have lots coming up with The Beauty Journal and our Kind Beauty Movement Masterclasses. So watch this space!
